poem // love slow

love slow, sweet one –
for there is so much you’ll miss
if you live with no pace –
there’s much more to life than this.

there’s beauty in your efforts, for they are not efforts at all –
your actions are rooted in confidence, your soul stands quite tall.

for you know your Father, and He knows you,
and you know that if there’s a choice, it’s you He’ll choose.

so love slow, sweet one –
don’t let this world determine your pace
for you walk with the Father –
you walk in His grace.

you are unhurried, unrushed, unconcerned with the expectation –
because you know your actions are showered with your Father’s adoration.

for you know He goes before you, you know He goes behind,
and you know that when you seek Him, He is always kind.

so love slow, sweet one –
don’t let this world take
the slow and sweet and sure soul
that you Father worked delicately to make.
